As 2024 winds down, I have been reflecting on a year that redefined my understanding of balance. I used to think balance was about perfection—having every piece of life aligned, neatly in place. But this year, through its challenges and wins, taught me something very different.
Balance, I’ve realized, isn’t about achieving a perfect equilibrium or feeling content all the time. It’s about holding space for the full spectrum of life—the highs and the lows, the grief and the joy, the failures and the triumphs. It’s about allowing emotions to flow through, rather than resisting them, and learning to embrace them as part of the experience. It’s messy, unpredictable, and deeply human.
A Year of Duality
This year brought me moments of deep gratitude and success in my business—days when I felt fully aligned with my purpose and energized by the work I was doing. At the same time, it brought grief and personal loss that took my breath away. Balancing those emotions—celebrating a win one day and sitting with heartbreak the next—was one of the hardest and most transformative lessons I’ve learned.
Balance for me now isn’t about perfection. It’s about showing up, prioritizing my values, and moving forward—even when things feel chaotic. It’s about trusting that everything doesn’t need to be in its perfect place for me to take the next step.
Key Lessons from 2024
One of the most surprising lessons I learned this year came in July, when I caught myself reflecting on a dream I’d held onto for over a decade. I’ve always loved hiking, and for years I’d talked about summiting a particular mountain range. But fear had kept me from even starting—fear of failure, discomfort, and not knowing if I could finish. That fear followed me for 10 years.
But in just three short months, I stopped letting fear decide for me and completed the hike I had been thinking about for years. When I finally reached the top of that mountain, I stood there in awe—not just of the view but of the journey it took to get there. The climb was hard, but the hardest part had been taking the first step. And what surprised me most was how much easier it was than the years of fear that kept me from starting.
This hike taught me something I had only read about in books before—that small, consistent steps create the kind of momentum that shifts everything. It wasn’t just about summiting a mountain. It was about proving to myself that action can dissolve fear, one step at a time.
With these small habits created, my energy also shifted in other areas of my life, especially in my business. I started landing more speaking engagements, more workshops, and more opportunities that felt aligned with who I am and where I want to go. It made me realize that progress doesn’t happen all at once—it starts small, almost imperceptibly, and then it accelerates in ways you can’t anticipate.
Looking Ahead to 2025
As I step into 2025, I’m carrying these lessons with me. I’ve learned that showing up, even imperfectly, and starting small can create unstoppable momentum. This year, I want to bring that energy into the spaces I create for women—to help them not only dream big but take the first steps toward those dreams.
I feel deeply called to amplify and uplift the voices of other women. There are so many women doing incredible work, often in unconventional spaces or with nontraditional paths. I want to help tell their stories and create spaces where they can feel seen, celebrated, and empowered to lead in their own way.
In 2025, I plan to channel this vision into meaningful workshops, trainings, and retreats designed to help women find their voice, their strengths, and their space in the world. I want to help other women experience the kind of balance I’ve been learning about this year—the kind that lets us show up fully, even when life isn’t perfect.
Balance isn’t about getting everything “right.” It’s about embracing what is and finding the courage to take the next step, even when it feels hard. That’s the lesson I’m carrying with me into 2025, and I can’t wait to see where it leads!
